The Director
General of Civil Defense Lt. Gen. Sulaiman Bin Abdullah Al-Amr has stated the
completion of all arrangements to carry out general plan in case of emergencies
and to provide every means of preventative safety from hazards that might
occur.
He added “
Civil Defense forces taking part in the plan have actually started their tasks
in the holy sites of Makkah and Madina.
They have taken all necessary measures in order to keep visitors safe and
guarantee raped intervention to all kind of potential risks in coordination
with government authorities concern with Civil Defense measures.
The General
Directorate of Civil Defense at this Hajj season is participating with 18,000
officers and privates supported by 3,000 vehicles and equipment deployed in the most frequently
visited areas and their access routes, and are ready to deal with all hazards
threating the pilgrim’s safety, Al-Amr
said.
He noted the
level of cooperation and coordination with all authorities taking part in
carrying out the general plan for emergencies in Hajj. Al-Amr praised the
keenness of the Saudi leadership to provide all facilities and capabilities to
the Civil Defense forces participating in Hajj works.
Al-Amr
finally confirmed the keenness of the Directorate to update its plans for
deployment and stationing of the Civil Defense forces participating in the Haj
this year on the basis of lessons learned from the past pilgrimages. This is
aside from creating a number of new units for speedy intervention and creating
awareness in the field of safety and preventive supervision.
