Crown Prince approves the general plan for civil defense works in Hajj

HRH Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Premier, Minister of Interior, and the Chairman of Supreme Hajj Committee, has approved the general plan for civil defense works in case of emergencies for this year Hajj season 1437, according to the Director General of Civil Defense, Lieutenant General Suleiman bin Abdullah Al- Amro.

Lt. Gen. Al-Amro explained that this approval comes as an extension of HRH Minister of Interior efforts and his continues follow-up of all that would enable pilgrims to perform Hajj easily and conveniently, and his support for civil defense efforts to perform its tasks when dealing with all types of risks during this year Hajj season.

Al-Amro explained that more than (17,000) civil defense personnel will participate in implementing civil defense plan, supported by more than (3000) vehicles and technical equipment, besides to plan to support civil defense forces from the regions when needed, also, and a number of detailed plans for evacuation and sheltering in coordination with all relevant government agencies concerned with the implementation of the civil defense works in case of emergencies.                                  

Lt. Gen. Al-Amro pointed out that General Directorate of Civil Defense took the initiative by joining  the Joint Security Operation Center (911) for receiving and dispatching calls, managing the security operations, and coordinating the cooperation between security sectors within the Ministry.                                                                                              

He added that the plan includes raising the level of safety awareness for pilgrims while their stay in the Holy Capital, Madina, and the Holy Sites in coordination with Hajj and Tawafa institutions.                                                                                                              

In addition, Lt. Gen. Al-Amro pointed out that the plan was based on extensive researches, taking into account the make use of past experiences in previous Hajj seasons.
