A. Creation of the Institute:
Civil Defense Institute was founded by the ministerial decree No. 1764/94 on the date 19/3/1394 e. and it is administratively linked to public administration for training. It has started its first sessions in 1394 e in its headquarter in Riyadh city.
B. Objective:
The preparation of human cadres, rehabilitating, and training them to do the job of civil defense, whether officers or non-commissioned officers to enable them to intervene immediately and rapidly in industrial accidents, or natural disasters and making different sessions for the staff of the government agencies, and public and civil organizations certain according to the type of work the civil defense has in addition to the training of the volunteers.
• Functions of the Educational Division of:
it prepares and execute the training programs and follow-up as well as implementing the educational policy of the institute and the provision of educational and teaching methods used in the educational process whether theoretical or practical aspect related to the work of civil defense.
• Functions of the Division of Student Affairs:
The Division of Student Affairs organize the Admission and Registration of the attending of the sessions as well as the preparation of sports activities of the Institute and the supervision of the military training in the field.
• Functions of the studies Division:
it is specified in preparing specific research and scientific studies and contacting with sources of information and for the scientific analysis field and coordinating with the competent authorities to develop curricula and the translation of scientific books that are aimed at the development and renovation in the training programs of the Institute.
• Functions of the Division of Administration and Finance:
Administrative work that are specified in regulating the operation of the Institute, financial business specially for the institute’s workers and students enrolled in training programs, and provide the necessary information about them, as well as the security of the Institute.
• Functions of the Supply Division:
it is specified in the processing of specific buildings and machinery and of practical equipment training, transport and its maintenance to keep on working continuously, and supplies necessary to ensure the functioning of the institute.
• Functions of the computer Division:
Providing support services and computer technology and information systems for all branches and sections and laboratories and of the Institute.
• The functions of the Public Affairs Section:
The development of relations within the Institute and other sides and organizing visiting programs for the trainees and the visitors’ programs and the graduation ceremony and information and cultural aspects and supervision of the library and counseling for students and staff of the Institute.
• Training programs:
the training programs designed at the Institute of Civil Defense in accordance with the requirements of the field work of the General Directorate of Civil Defense and through the training course for officers that is decided by the General Directorate of training and through the training requirement for different points of the Civil Defense. The training at the Institute is done by using the theoretical and practical field.
• The programs of the high leaders:
The implementation of some programs of the high leaders of the civil defense in cooperation with scientific centers and universities in developing the skills of top leaders in the administrative aspects such as the General Quality Management programs, creative thinking, strategic planning, and others.
