The General Directorate of Civil Defense held a workshop yesterday titled “Safety Requirements and Standards in the Holy Sites" as part of the fifth edition of the Hajj Conference and Exhibition in Jeddah, being held from November 9 to 12.

 The workshop, presented by civil defense specialists, addressed the concept of safety, its requirements and standards, as well as fire prevention and protection measures in facilities located within the boundaries of the holy sites. It also highlighted the role of preventive awareness in enhancing and raising safety awareness among pilgrims and workers.

 The workshop further discussed the duties and responsibilities of safety officers in relation to fire prevention and protection requirements, and the tasks of safety teams during emergencies, in coordination with relevant authorities, to ensure the highest levels of safety for pilgrims.​
