Civil Defense Continues Public Awareness Campaign on Heavy Rains Safety

The General Directorate of Civil Defense is implementing awareness programs to promote a culture of prevention and enhance community preparedness for weather fluctuations.

In collaboration with relevant authorities, Civil Defense delivers awareness messages that clarify the meaning of weather alerts, the correct procedures to follow during their occurrence, and safety guidelines related to rainfall. These messages aim to protect lives and property while promoting public safety.

The Directorate emphasizes the importance of staying away from low areas, water accumulations, and valleys during rainfall. It also advises against crossing valleys during flash floods and exercising caution when traveling or engaging in outdoor activities. Additionally, it encourages following safety guidelines and instructions published through official media outlets and social media channels. In case of emergencies, Civil Defense advises calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, or 998 in the rest of the regions.
