Civil Defense Continues to Raise Public Awareness of Cold Waves

The General Directorate of Civil Defense, in coordination with relevant authorities, continues to implement its awareness program on weather phenomena, promoting proactive safety practices and strengthening community readiness for climate fluctuations.

The directorate highlighted the importance of following safety instructions during low-temperature weather, maintaining warm houses safely, and avoiding lighting firewood in closed areas to prevent suffocation. The directorate also reiterated the importance of proper ventilation, keeping away flammable materials, ensuring the safety of heaters and electrical wiring, and not disregarding warnings and instructions.

It also called on the public to follow announcements issued through official channels and to contact 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, or 998 across the rest of the Kingdom for immediate assistance during emergencies.  ​
