The General Directorate of Civil Defense stressed the importance of equipping homes with essential safety devices to protect lives and property. It said the equipment also enhances preparedness for accidents and fires and helps mitigate their impact.
The directorate said key home safety equipment includes smoke detectors, fire blankets, fire extinguishers, and gas detectors. It highlighted their vital role in enabling a rapid response to emergencies and limiting the spread of fires.
The directorate urged the public to follow the safety guidelines and instructions it publishes through various media outlets and social media platforms. It also called on the public to dial 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, and 998 in the rest of the Kingdom to request emergency assistance.
