Mr. Alexander Chupriyan, President of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers ISFFR, commended Saudi Arabia's preparations to host the World Firefighting and Rescue Championship, which will take place from October 26 to November 1 in Riyadh, with the participation of 22 countries.
He stated that the patronage of HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, of the opening ceremony reflects Saudi Arabia's attention and support in organizing this global event for firefighting and rescue sports. He praised the Kingdom's efforts, affirming the ISFFR's confidence that this edition will be an exceptional milestone in the history of the championship.
He added that the Federation's meetings with the local organizing committees are ongoing to finalize all organizational, technical, and logistical preparations. He affirmed that all Federation committees are currently prepared for the championship's kickoff, which will include around 300 male and female participants competing in four main events, the 100m obstacle race, the 400m relay, the stair climb, and the firefighting contest.
He further noted that this year's Firefighting and Rescue Championship will feature elite civil defense and rescue teams from around the world, competing in one of the most humanitarian professions dedicated to protecting human life, emphasizing that the championship represents a global event blending athletic, humanitarian, and cultural dimensions, showcasing the professional skill and training excellence of civil defense personnel worldwide.
